IV. Required Portfolio and Research
Note: Assessment in the Math Classroom should be taken prior to the
collection of evidence for the pedagogical portfolio.
MATH 6055 Pedagogical Portfolio Evaluation (0 credits)
For MATH 6055 you are to assemble a portfolio of 5 instructional studies that you have performed.
For each instructional study you should include
- Lesson plans for the instructional unit. The lesson plans should include the state or national standards that the unit is addressing.
- Clearly identify the instructional change or modification that you are making.
- Clearly indicate your anticipated results.
- Describe your experimental design. Be thorough and clear. Here is where you will state your null and alternative hypotheses. Your hypotheses (3 hypotheses) should
- consider if learning occurred
- consider if learning achieved a level you expected
- consider what part of your student population achieved acceptable learning levels
- What data will you be collecting? How will you be collecting the data?
- What data comparison will you be making?
- What statistical test or measure will you be using to evaluate your data comparison?
- Include your actual data.
- Include your statistical calculations and results.
- Interpret your results.
- Describe how you will dissemenate your results and conclusions.
Work with your advisor to help you with each of your instructional studies. These studies need to be completed and approved prior to your Master's oral examination.
